北港武德宮是台灣五路財神信仰的開基祖廟，主神即是武財神爺「趙公明」，受玉皇大天尊封為三十六天官之首，率領東、西、南、北路 財神，掌管天下財庫，都是專司金銀財庫的神仙，因此被民間統合尊稱「五路武財神爺」。
The Beigang Wude Temple is the founding temple for the faith of five-direction god of wealth in Taiwan. The major deity is Chao Kong-Ming, who is the god of military wealth, and is ordained by jade Emperor as the head of 36 offcials in heaven, leads gods of the east, west, south and north and controls the wealth of the world. Therefore, he is respectfully referred to as the five-direction God of Wealth in the folklore.
